The final moments of a gala evening held an unexpected and deeply meaningful surprise for Hurrdat. During “An Evening Among Angels: Moments in Time,” the annual gala for Angels Among Us, the nonprofit unveiled its inaugural “All In For Angels” award and named Hurrdat its first-ever recipient. Hurrdat was recognized for its marketing and communication support of the organization’s “Go Gold” campaign that raises awareness and funds during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month in September.
Hurrdat Senior Vice President of Growth and Engagement Chris Gorman accepted the award on behalf of the Hurrdat team. Gorman is pictured above with Angels Among Us Executive Director Aly Theilen, CFRM.
“We had no idea this was coming, and it truly took our breath away,” said Gorman. “Angels Among Us does extraordinary work for families facing the hardest days of their lives. To be recognized by an organization we admire so much as the very first recipient of the All In For Angels award is an honor our entire team will carry with us. We’re grateful to stand alongside them and help share their story.”
Hurrdat Marketing led the strategy and creative execution for the Go Gold campaign, marking Angels Among Us’ 20th anniversary. The statewide volleyball campaign brought together volleyball teams from 49 Nebraska high schools and 10 colleges in addition to two professional volleyball teams, including Omaha Supernovas, to raise funds for and awareness of families facing pediatric cancer. Hurrdat Brand Goods designed and created custom gold volleyball jerseys for the teams, and built/managed school-specific online stores, with proceeds going back to Angels Among Us. In addition, Hurrdat created the campaign graphic design and visual identity, produced campaign video content, including a Go Gold video recap that premiered at the gala, and developed social media content to carry the campaign.
Angels Among Us provides financial and emotional support to families, serving those whose children receive cancer treatment at Nebraska hospitals, even when the families live in other states, as well as Nebraska residents whose children receive treatment out of state.
