The Sarpy County Fair honored Canary & Coal, a Hurrdat Company, as its 2026 Business of the Year for the agency’s longstanding partnership with the Sarpy County Agricultural Society.
“The Sarpy County Fair is such a special tradition, and it’s been a privilege to work with the fair board, Nichole Jansen and Sarah Rudolph to help showcase everything the fair has to offer,” says Cheri Duryea, Hurrdat’s Vice President of Media Buying & Strategy. “I am grateful to the fair board for the award and to Nichole and Sarah for being wonderful partners. The Sarpy County Fair, held in Springfield, Neb., is one of the region’s largest and most popular multi-day events with a full carnival, rodeo and other attractions. Canary & Coal, which has worked with the Sarpy County Fair since 2019, supports the Springfield event with website services, organic and paid social media, public relations, graphic design and traditional advertising.
At the fair awards ceremony, leaders of the Sarpy County Agricultural Society said they greatly appreciate the partnership they have formed over the years with Canary & Coal. They commented, “The time, knowledge and expertise provided by Cheri and team is invaluable.”
With more than 25 years of integrated marketing experience, Duryea has guided strategic marketing initiatives across financial services, real estate, retail, technology, franchise relations, healthcare and nonprofit sectors for local and national brands. Beyond her agency work, Duryea is an active leader in the Omaha business and nonprofit community. She is a member of the Nebraska chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and previously served as President of the Omaha Network. She also is a past President of the Women’s Fund of Omaha and has maintained board positions with Heartland Family Service and other local nonprofits.
